Lulu Collins
Lulu Collins was born on August 25, 1875. She lived near Calumet in Fallon County. She was married to Earl Collins. Her and her husband ran a ranch. In December, 1919, Lulu Collins was appointed postmistress in a post office in eastern Montana and by county commissioner. She was the postmistress in the only post office in eastern Montana built entirely of stone. Mrs. Collins wrote a letter to Ms Jeanette Rankin. Lulu wrote to Ms Rankin about the war. In the matter of prices are high cost of living. She wrote that she hoped that Mrs. Rankin would all she could “to have manufactured articles put on a small profit basis, same as farm products are for that is only fair. The world could not live without the farmers.” Both Lulu and her husband were supporters of Ms. Rankin.
